Today’s featured wedding captured by  A Brit & A Blonde is just full of DIY goodness. You’d never guess half the DIY items in today’s wedding which makes it that just more special. Held at the gorgeous Cambium Farms venue which is situated just outside of Toronto, Kat and Thomas’s wedding was a delicate mix of vintage and rustic details. In addition to the old vintage doors which were used as the seating chart, guests were treated to monogram embroidered blankets from Kat’s mother and a cake baked by the bride herself.

Says Jessica: Kat & Thomas met at McGill University and have been together for many years. But they have been busy bees - Kat is doing her residency and will be an incredible doctor and Thomas is a pilot. They have been commuting back and forth for a number of years while studying. And somehow in the midst of their busy lives, they planned a picture perfect wedding complete with DIY awesomeness. They said I do in the fall at one of Ontario’s newest and sweetest new venues - Cambium Farms. Just a short 45 mins outside of the hustle and bustle of Toronto lies an incredibly rad barn and farm. Their ceremony took place on the grounds outdoors amidst the forest and the pines with their favorite people in the world surrounding them. Kat’s family is very musical, so her brother’s actually played and sang “Old Pine” while their sister walked down the aisle. One of their closest and oldest friends acted as their officiant and spoke straight from the heart. Kat’s mother actually embroidered each and every blanket with the wedding monogram and was a perfect thank you gift for their guests. Also came in wonderfully handy to snuggle up in once the sun went down. The look and feel was all done by Kat - the decor was rustic and allowed the wonderfulness of the barn to shine. Yup, those table numbers that look so incredibly chic - all Kat! The sparkling lights in the evening made it very magical as they hosted 170 guest. We adored that Kat opted for a short and super sweet wedding dress and birdcage veil. She looked timeless and the dash of red on her lips was perfection. The old vintage doors that acted as the seating chart for their guests were gorgeous and really set the mood. We love that Kat gave her bridesmaids wonderfully lovely hair pins to adorn their do’s. And they all had free reign to wear a dress that they loved. And if she didn’t have her work cut out for her with all the design and decor - Kat also made the wedding cake herself too. It looked and tasted delicious!! Oh and did we mention she also hand made all the invitations too - talk about a DIY queen!
