Good morning and happy Monday.
What happens when you put together a talented team of Sasktoon wedding vendors and stick them outside on a cold Saskatchewan winter day? A ridiculously inspiring photoshoot and one that I couldn’t pass sharing with you. I know I’ve vowed to move away from winter wedding inspiration, but we’ll make an exception this once. Why? Because the shoot isn’t focused on being winter specific, in fact, the defining factor is the inspiration behind it all, a style we likely aren’t too familiar with: Scandinavian style. The goal was to bring in unexpected details, fur and dark makeup to make for an ultra couture and high fashion photoshoot. And of course, to inspire brides to “restyle the dress” rather than “trash the dress”.
“Instead of trashing the dress, restyle the dress. Lets get some great jewellery and accessories..go to different locations and style the dress. You don’t have to trash it but it’s a great way for you and your new husband to spend another day together in that gorgeous dress.”

To carry with the edgy theme of the model photoshoot, a tablescape in red, black and white was created along with a unique table linen and black feathers. The black and white cake by W & W Wedding Bakery was covered in jewels and had a ruffled bottom tier.

Vera, Vera, Vera! Oh she’s done it again, surprising us with yet another unexpected collection for Spring 2013. I thought she might pull back from the height of her famed black dresses of 2012, but she’s opted for the romance of red in various shades, along with some deep purple gowns that ground the entire collection. Now, I’m not sure most brides would want a red gown (including myself), but the dress designs are still beautiful to look at.

What are your thoughts on the collection?
