FRIDAY FRIDAY!! Here’s my weekly link love for you to peruse over the weekend. Since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, I thought I’d make this Feb 14 friendly :]

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Here’s a DIY coupon-filled matchbook - clever, yet cute.

If you’re more of a tech person like myself, here’s an easy way to send a message to tell someone you’re thinking of them. Christopher Elbow Chocolates has created “love letters” where you can write sweet messages in chocolate and send them to your valentine.

So far we’ve been lucky to avoid the snow in mid-November here in Edmonton, but I’m anticipating a cold cold COLD winter this year as a result! So for those who are having a winter wedding or just love tea in general, I think this post will give you some “favors” inspiration (pun not intended).
I am a BIG fan of Beast Pieces, a design & letterpress studio. Here’s a card they helped to create for OrangeSeed Design. Slipped inside were a couple tea bags with the most adorable tags.

Have your guests buzzing about what a sweet couple you make!
Materials
- Ribbon of your choice
- Mason jars of any size
- Honey to fill each jar
- Personalized Wedding Labels – wedding favour labels
Tip: You can go to a famers market and purchase honey already in Mason jars without labels. Then all you need to do is personalize the jar.
.
Steps

1: Thoroughly wash and dry mason jars and lids and fill them with honey.
2: Secure lid and tie personalized ribbon around the top of the Mason jar.
3: Peel “Thanks for Bee-ing Here” sticker and place in the centre of the jar.
A bee theme is adorable for a garden wedding. Add other bee themed items with a “Meant to Bee” wedding thank you card and mini magnet wedding favour.

Show your guest what a cute couple-ccino you are.

Materials- One coffee mug for each guest
- ½ cup of coffee beans for each mug
- One biscotti for each mug
- Ribbon of your choice
- Couple-ccino Stickers/Labels – Personalized Wedding Labels
- Single hole punch
Tip: Wrap your biscotti and coffee beans in cellophane so the favour is easier to transport.

Steps
1. Thoroughly wash and dry coffee mug. Fill with ½ cup of coffee beans. Fragrant coffee beans make the room smell wonderful.
2. Place biscotti in the mug.
3: To make the “Couple-ccino” labels sturdy, stick them on white Bristol board and cut them out.
4: Using the single hole punch, make a small hole on the sticker for the ribbon to pull through.
5: Secure “Couple-ccino” label around the handle of the mug using ribbon of your choice. Tie the ribbon in a bow and cut loose ends.

Everybody’s got a sweet tooth ! I loved the wedding of Jonathan & Grace who created a candy bar for their guests at the end of the wedding. Everything was chosen to match the original pink and chocolate theme. Guests were provided with mini chocolate colored take out boxes, labeled with a card stating “Sweets from the Sweethearts.”
This is a relatively inexpensive way to treat your guests. The take out boxes can be purchased at any crafts store and the mini labled cards can be created by yourself. All you need is a little imagination!

Let your imagination run wild when deciding what kind of favors you want your guests to take home. Sometimes the littlest detail, like the box that holds your favors, can make a big difference in carrying out your wedding theme. Here are three simple ways that you can dress up those little boxes.

Isn’t it just cute? Easily customizable and easy to do yourself. For this guest favor, all you have to do is add a quote or message onto the piece of fabric, felt, or paper that goes inside the fortune cookie. Another idea is to use the cookies as holders for your escort cards at the reception. Check out Lady Harvatine for a complete do it yourself tutorial on how to make them. And look around because there’s some really nice and simple crafts that could easily be incorporated in your wedding.
Below is what fortune cookies made out of felt would look like (from Martha Stewart Weddings):
