Today’s real wedding in Langley, BC is a rustic countryside event filled with beautiful vintage/antique details. Captured by Christie Graham Photography, the bride and groom wanted to incorporate bright pink into their decor, opting to pair it with softer hues to make it elegant. Enjoy!
Says Christie: Being basketball players, everyone in the bridal party was well over 6 feet (yes, even the ladies!). Except the 5 foot groomsmen who walked down the aisle with a 6’1 beautiful blonde on his arm! This earned a few chuckles from friends and families in their seats, lightening the mood of the wedding and easing any last minute nerves from the bride and groom. It might not have been every bride’s cup of tea, but it’s those unique quirks that make a wedding stand out in my mind.
What was your inspiration behind your overall wedding decor and colour choices?
The overall inspiration for my wedding was country elegance. The wedding was on my parents farm so I had to kind of stick with that theme so it felt natural. I love bright colours so I went with a bright pink but didn’t want to go over the top so I paired with light pink flowers and very soft silver bridesmaids dresses.
The seating chart was made up of old windowpanes from the family home with the names of guests painted on them.
What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?
We lucked out and had beautiful weather. I enjoyed the in between times of the wedding and watching people spread out all over the property having fun drinking and laughing. It was really nice to not have it constrained to just inside the tent.
Do you have any advice for other brides/grooms-to-be?
The night before your wedding throw away all of your planning information. If you haven’t had time to do it then its probably not going to happen. Your wedding day is to enjoy not to plan.
