To end off this fabulous week, I’ve got yet another charming and out-of-the-box engagement session. This one definitely hits to the heart & the stomach. Why you ask? It’s filled with cookbooks and a flour fight! So fitting, since today’s couple, Kristin & Quoc both love to cook and being that Quoc is a chef and Kristin is an avid baker. This is a first for me and I love the fact that brides and grooms-to-be aren’t scared to get a little dirty and have a little bit of fun with their photographer Sherry Lu Photography capturing each and every moment.
Says Sherry: Kristin and Quoc have been dating for 17 years (since high school!) and got engaged last March. The proposal was an intimate affair, which started with Quoc cooking dinner for Kristin. When he brought out the cheesecake, there was a stand-in ring on the top, which he used to propose with. Quoc had invited all of their friends to show up half an hour after the proposal to celebrate, and it turned out that they all knew already! They are getting married at Brock House in October 2013.
For their engagement session, they wanted to have a tea-party set up, which we photographed at Granville Island. We also took advantage of all the fall colours around us and had some fun with tossing leaves! The highlight of the entire session was the end: the flour fight!. Quoc is a chef, and Kristin loves to bake, so it was almost a given that they were going to have some kind of a food fight. So we took a bag of flour and found a clearing in a forest, where the flour fight began.
The teddy bear is important because it was given to Kristen by Quoc at the beginning of their 17 year relationship.
How beautiful is this ring? Kristin’s platinum and black diamond ring was designed by local jeweler Jewellery Artist 3D.
