I’ve got a super pretty wedding to carry you over the weekend, shot by the ever fabulous Buffy Goodman Photography. This wedding, held at the Blatchford Park Air Hanger, has some utterly charming DIY details: hanging poster board flowers and lace wrapped vases filled with tealights. Janine and Hartley wanted a soft and romantic wedding, choosing a beautiful color scheme of “antique white, beige, creams with a hint of soft pink”. This is a wedding that shows you how pretty a muted color palette can be and how you can create an impact with your own DIY items.

Favorite Moment:
My favorite moment of the wedding day? Well that’s a hard one because everything was perfect! I guess the 2 things that stand out the most was walking down the aisle and seeing Hartley at the end. I was so full of emotion and looking at him just kept me together. I also loved seeing all the family and friends that had come to share the day with us. The other would have to be the wedding speeches by family and bridal party. We really felt the love from their kind words and knowing we have those people in our lives make us realize how lucky we are.

And it just so happened to be pride day in Edmonton, so the couple took some candid downtown Edmonton shots among the crowd!

The pink florals were made to look as if they where floating in the air. They were made by my girlfriends, my mom and myself. They were made out of plain white poster board and hung with fishing line and we had pink accent lights shining on them.

Advice for future brides-to-be:
My advice to other brides would just be to continue telling yourself to “remember this moment“. The day you have looked forward to for so long goes by so quickly, so take it all in and enjoy every second.

What a lovely wedding! I love the impromptu shoot at Pride too.
Vinnie on July 20, 2012WOW! This wedding is everything a wedding should be – elegant and classy with a touch of personality. The reception decor was absolutely stunning with the hanging flowers, dining set-up and numerous candles. What also caught the eye was the bride’s facial expression for the cutting of the cake – shows she was able to be herself on her special day
Modern Weddings Hawaii on July 21, 2012This beautiful wedding just proves that classic white-on-white (or other muted tones) does work! Love those lace-wrapped bottles all in a row, the paper flower garlands overhead, the white florals…all so lovely!
Lissa on July 23, 2012I have to say what caught my eye first about this blog post is the very first photograph. I love love love the background of it and the fact that the couple stands out so much. It almost says, no matter what happens we will always be happy if we have each other. The bride looked very beautiful. The dress suited her and her personality and the accessories were done very tastefully. The couple wanted romance and they got it. The venues really added romantic touches here and there. The church is gorgeous and the reception area was done very elegantly. I have to say my second favorite photo would have to be of the bride and her shoes. I love that you can see her tattoo it really adds a personal touch to the event and the photo. The bridal party looked very beautiful as well. I love the soft colors they chose for the color scheme. Like you said it just shows “how pretty a muted color palette can be”.
Congrats to the happy couple and kudos to the vendors especially the photographer, I love the photos. And of course WeddingObsession for the post!
