Brides + grooms, you’re definitely going to connect with this next story shared by Krista of Edison Photography. I thought it was so important to share it with you. Take it easy and remember that the wedding is ultimately about YOU and your love for one another. xoxo.

Josh & Trish have known each other since they were young kids, and lived around the corner from each other. It wasn’t until years later they discovered they were “more than friends” (note to self – keep an eye on the boys in my girl’s classes!). :-) Josh & Trish were planning a big wedding, when Trish found herself stressed and not enjoying the planning stage at all. She just wanted to marry Josh! So they cancelled their big wedding and instead planned a small, intimate wedding with just family.

Trish is an avid reader and so we had to incorporate her love of books throughout the photos on her wedding day.

Josh and Trish simply wanted to be married “under a tree” and found the perfect tree at the Osler House bed and breakfast in Dundas, Ontario! Trish is extremely close with her grandfather, who she had hoped could perform the ceremony, but his memory is starting to fade. It was very special though to have some photos of her Papa and herself together to cherish. During the ceremony there was to be a “hand binding” ceremony and when it came time for it – realized they had forgot the rope! No worries – one of the groomsmen was quick to remove his tie, and they used this instead. Another reminder that in the end – it is all about the fact that a boy and a girl are in love, and want to spend together forever.

The morning of the wedding, Trish and her bridesmaids walked to the local farmer’s market in Hamilton to pick flowers and came home and arranged their bouquets. Trish had just asked her wedding party to wear earth tones – and left the rest to them!

What a gorgeous dress! The bride looked beautiful.
D. on February 21, 2012I am the very proud mother of the groom featured here. Trish is an absolute doll and we all love her immensely. It was a beautiful, perfect day. These two truly love one another and the day was about what they wanted, as it should be. I am so proud that they went with what they felt, rather than what was expected or what others wanted. It was their day done their way.
