Trends from the Wedluxe Show

By Melissa

I know a lot of wedding professionals hate trends. But I personally think it’s always nice to see what are the tying points between vendors and see what’s innovative or new in the industry. So here’s some items that both Krista and I thought were the top trends at the Wedluxe Show.

Individual roses hung by ribbon or jeweled string from the ceiling

Need I say anymore? Just lovely.

Paper Flowers

One of the biggest decor pieces that stood out during the show was the large white paper flowers. Literally, they were everywhere.

{image above: Krista noticed that one of the cakes from Bobbette and Belle resembled the paper flower decor pieces, so I thought I’d add it in here so you can see them together}

These paper flowers can be purchased through Fanciful Design.

Pierre Chairs

Move over Chivalri, a new chair’s in town! One of the most noticeable trends that we noticed was the abundance of Pierre Chairs throughout the event. The Pierres in either black or white are a nice spin to the formal chivalri chairs, but still showing some traditional detailing. They’re available at CF Rentals in Toronto.

Glam + Sparkle

Sparkle was literally everywhere. In both gold and silver. I love the fact that gold’s making a comeback. It adds warmth to any palette. Some tables were covered in sequin detailed linens, while in the beauty lounge, white trays were covered in gold sparkle. An easy DIY project.

I also got to meet Crystal of Distinct Occasions, who fittingly wore sparkly flats at the show. So cute! Also, the picture frames were her DIY project, covered in white, shiny glitter.

Hi, Do you remember who was showing the sequin linens? Having a really rough time trying to track them down here in Toronto. My event designer’s normal places don’t have any and am reluctant to bring in from the states…
thanks!
