Blocking made Simple…
I love simplicity. But even more so, I love shapes that come together in different ways that ‘create’ simplicity. Does that make sense? For example, I came across this innovative centerpiece which I absolutely knew I had to share with you.
The centerpiece combines glowing white Lucite cubes (love!) and gorgeous fushia, purple and orange orchids. The florals are arranged in such a way that they’re individually present as blocks, filling in the space between the Lucite cubes. I absolutely LOVE this table arrangement.
I’m not too sure how I feel about the floating ‘clouds’ seen in the picture below, but for some reason it adds such interest to the space. The designers used sheets of cellophane and chromed lightbulbs to create these cloudlike chandeliers. I bet it looked amazing when the sun came down..imagine the glow!

Deborah Lee on July 06, 2010Hey I kinda have a random question not really related to this post, but do you know of any good dance instructors in the Edmonton Area? My fiance and I aren’t big dancers, but want to have a good time at our wedding and don’t want to look dumb. Any ideas?
Thanks.
Lindsay on July 06, 2010@deborah – i’m so glad you agree! So pretty
@lindsay – unfortunately, I don’t know of any. However, I found this studio in Edmonton that does dancing lessons specifically for brides/grooms.
I also know a couple that had dance lessons at Arthur Murray studio on 124th st downtown.
My dance was very ‘high school’ and even I got bored!
admin on July 06, 2010Does anyone have any idea for centerpieces? I like the idea of square and rectangular vase. I’m not using fresh flower and going with silk..

If your looking for knock em dead dance lessons and choreography call Elite Dance Studio. They have adult dance classes from beginner to advances and do private lessons as well.
It is owned and operated by Canadian Ballroom Dance Champs Dominic Lacroix and Delphine Romaire. They do all the choreography for the Dancing For The Kids fundraiser events every year. Hope that helps!
Good luck!
