Our fabulous photographer, Jessica Fern Facette, surprised Jason and I with a peek of our wedding day photos last week. We are soooo ecstatic with how they turned out and I’m so excited to share them with you. If you’re looking for a photographer, you most definitely have to give Jessica a call because she’s the one person who makes anyone “feel” something just by looking at her photographs. I can still remember feeling like I was about to cry when she showed us a wedding slideshow during our first consultation.
I’ll be adding in some little details throughout and there is a complete vendors list at the end of this post. I hope it helps in your own wedding planning adventures!

The ceremony was held at a music hall at the University where Jason and I met. It’s got the old charm and grandeur that we were looking for. Decor at the ceremony was minimal because I realized it would be over in a flash, so I opted to focus my efforts on the reception.

We actually cancelled our deposit on another wedding venue when we realized the Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA) would be completed just months before our wedding date. Jason and I are urban fanatics – we love big cities and clean, minimalist lines. This was a no-brainer and we love that it was a nice contrast to our aged and rustic ceremony venue. Not only was the venue itself eye-catching, but the staff there (event & catering staff) were awesome to work with. The food was fabulous and the presentation was top notch!

I bought these postcards while on a trip in Vancouver and knew immediately that they would be our guestbook. I was smitten with the different ways of saying “love” and the white space proved to be just enough for guests to sign on.

The escort card table was based on one that I found at Martha Stewart Weddings. I altered it so that the cutout was a square to match the theme of the wedding and instead of fabric, I used scrapbooking paper in black, white, and green motifs. The board was covered in moss green satin strips and white pins held the escort cards in place.

We were so happy with how it all turned out. All in all it was a great night!

Sofia, Edmonton Wedding Planner on June 30, 2010hmmm… lovely photos. I didn’t have quite the same experience with Jessica though, it took over three months to get our photos which weren’t nearly as dashing or detailed. Mind you, we don’t run a wedding website:)
