If you’ve been following the blog recently, you already know that I’m a panelist for today’s Trash the Dress Debate over at Smartbride Boutique! I fully SUPPORT trashing dresses because it’s an opportunity to see photos you normally wouldn’t dare consider on your wedding day. In light of the debate this evening, here are some trash the dress sessions from two very talented photographers in Edmonton (Sandi Stone Photography & Just Married Photography) – one you might have already seen several weeks ago!

Me too! I love water shoots

I’m not trashing, I’m selling. I have no desire what so ever to put my dress back on after the day-of…and why destroy a perfectly good dress when another bride could use it? I agree, the shots are lovely, but I want all the pictures of me in my dress to be from my wedding day. Plus if I sell it for even half what I paid for it, I’ll be able to buy some new furniture or clothing that I’ll be able to use for years.

I chose to do a trash the dress session in Mexico for my own wedding. My dress went right into the ocean and was covered in sand by the time we were done. I sent it to the dry cleaners in Mexico and it came out as good as new. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. Those pictures are my most treasured ones and we had so much fun. The best part was the dry cleaners in Mexico charged all of 4 dollars U.S to clean the dress to perfection!
