Second Stop: Ceremony Location – Convocation Hall (University of Alberta)
This historic music hall on campus, built in 1915, was the ultimate ceremony location for us, since Jason and I met while studying at the University of Alberta. I could only faintly remember the room when I was nine for a music concert, so it was a treat to see it finally in person over the weekend. I loved the historic grandeur of the room. But with the large size comes issues with how to keep it intimate. And if you’re wondering, the contraption on the stage in the photos, along with the bar will not be present during wedding ceremonies. I’ve also come across the difficulty of finding ways to attach things to the theatre chairs without tacking them, so I’m on the lookout for things I can line the aisle with…stay tuned for that!
