You know you’ve spent wayyyyyy too much time enjoying ‘all things wedding’ when you recognize dresses while shopping and can pinpoint exactly which wedding you saw the gown in. I decided I was going to shop around the BCBG website to find a cute dress to wear to a friend’s wedding this summer and noticed that the selection of long, white gowns is growing! In particular, there were two dresses that stood out in my mind (below) and show you that if you’re looking for a fairly simple silhouette empire, sheath or conservative a-line) with minimal beading, you don’t have to go to a bridal shop to find THE dress.
In fact, when I visited the “White” bridal shop in Yorkville (Toronto), I had a look at their ‘alternative wedding collections‘ which are usually designers who design for the bride that wants something simple & modern without breaking the bank. Lines that I would recommend if you’re going that route are Nicole Miller & Jenny Yoo which are available across Canada. But we’ll leave that for another post…

Below are a couple other options from BCBG that I came across which would be FABULOUS modern wedding gowns…

oh these dresses are lovely! however the two paired with real weddings are very very similar to the dresses worn by those brides but they are def not the same. although i remember the first bride saying she was wearing BCBG… or maybe it was bebe… but either way, this is good advice! jenny yoo has such pretty designs too.
Hey Jamie – you’re right, they are slightly different! I just noticed it, but both brides indeed are wearing BCBG (well, the sources say they are)..but I think they’re “older” versions of the new gowns. :]
Cheers

Hey, I am going to wear the BCBG that the girl is wearing in her wedding, the white with black, I find it lovely, specially if you do not want to be soooo traditional. Our wedding is not very traditional and we are going to marry two times, ones in his country and other one in my country, so it is perfect for both occasions and both weathers.
Tell us what you think!
Modern & simple wedding inspiration that's still oh-so-pretty. I just got married this may in Edmonton...I'd love to hear from you! melissa@weddingobsession.com
