Boy, has a lot happened these past few weeks! I have been aching to tell you more (well for those who care!).

First of all, I want to thank all of you who gave me their suggestions/opinion about my decor post. You have no idea how much I loved reading your comments and truly considered all of them.

However…it looks like I’ve changed my venue! After much deliberation, Jason and I have decided to go with having our reception at the Art Gallery of Alberta. While it’s still under construction, it looks to be finished in January, just in time for our May long-weekend wedding. It truly reflects both our tastes, as we’re both lovers of modern architecture. I’ve been told it will have concrete floors, while walls, plenty of glass, stainless steel details and high ceilings. It is essentially a clean slate. We are absolutely thrilled.

Likewise, I’ve finally made some decisions and have chosen the gown! It’s ivory, relatively grecian-styled, yet modern and with a floral detail. After going to numerous bridal shops, I felt it was almost a relief to finally choose one. It’s completely opposite with what I had envisioned wearing and now I agree with the saying that “most often a bride will end up with something she never thought she’d ever wear”. I cannot wait to post some tips for you brides out there who are still in the midst of choosing your own gown.

The bridesmaid dresses have been bought. They’re black, knee-length and with a single strap. And the girls say they’ll wear them again, so that makes me happy.

Now it’s time to design the invitations and choose the flowers. Until then, happy planning.

I cannot wait to shoot some photos at the Art Gallery… it’s beautiful! I am getting married in 3 weeks and I am sad to know I wont be able to use it as a venue for my wedding but perhaps for someone else’s one day soon!

All the best!
