My apologies for the inconsistent blogging…it’s exam time. *sigh* …soon it will be all over and I’ll be free!!
In the meantime, here is one way to get your beautiful bouquet for less, not to mention, something you can do yourself! I’ve always liked the save & splurge comparisons in fashion magazines, so I thought I’d try it out here for some fun =)
Splurge if you will, but the top bouquet filled with peonies & ranunculuses can be extremely costly. In fact, peonies, which bloom in late spring, are more expensive than roses, and ranunculuses aren’t much better in terms of savings.
Instead, the light pink ’splurge’ can be created under a tight, yet savvy budget using a couple bunches of carnations. Known best for their ability to create volume (which is why they’re often used as fillers), carnations are relatively inexpensive and easy to purchase at any florist shop or supermarket. Here, varying hues of pale blush pink and fuchsia carnations were placed together and then tied in place with inexpensive floral stem wire. To finish off the look, a matching silk ribbon was wrapped around the stem to disguise the wire.
The two looks are quite similar - classic & romantic. If you’re on a tight budget, choosing inexpensive florals is one savvy way to save on your florals.
