I tried this and was very disappointed. 1) it takes much longer than 30 minutes to chill the mixture. 2) When you try to push in the flowers, they either all float to the top or else (if the jello is firm enough) the petals all close up as you push in the flowers. I ended up throwing the whole thing away. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

BTW, I used real flowers. Perhaps you need to use fake ones?

[...] When I came across these Jell-O centerpieces I was blown away. They look great, are easy to make and would be very affordable. You would get a lot of impact for not a lot of money with these. I wouldn’t advise eating them though. You can find the instructions on how to make them at Wedding Obsession.
Hi,
I absolutely LOVE this idea and am seriously considering doing this for my centerpieces for my wedding in May. I was just wondering where would be the best place to find square vases like these because I really want square ones just like this. Also are those flowers real or would you suggest fake ones?

Hi Jess - I think you're right because I looked it up and it says that Jello only lasts for a couple hours before it starts to get watery/sludgy. I'm not sure how it will look then. I think I might give it a try and let you know :P

How long can these sit out and not...melt? Awesome idea, but I'd have to think there's be some down side to it.
